Zoë Slatoff Ponté

Zoë discovered yoga at the age of 15 and has been devoted to a daily practice ever since. Since 2000, she has travelled to Mysore almost every year to study at the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, R. Sharath and Saraswathi. She is honored to have received Guruji's blessing to teach in 2002. In 2009 she received Authorization Level 2.

Zoë has a Master's Degree in South Asian Language and Culture from Columbia University. Her master's thesis was a translation and exploration of a Sanskrit text on Yoga and Ayurveda.

She is tremendously grateful to her teachers, family and friends for their inspiration and guidance.

Ben Ponté
Ben has been practicing Ashtanga Yoga since 1997 and teaching since 2003. He was authorized to teach by R. Sharath Jois in 2011.

As a visual artist and writer, Ben's work involves exploring the role of the artist and yogi as outsiders to social and cultural convention. He is currently focusing on the changing depictions and understandings of the body in art history and contemporary advertising.

Ben's first Yoga teacher was Suze Plenkovich. Other significant influences have been Graeme and Leonie Northfield. His gratitude also extends to Michelle Bennett for her support.

He is now privileged to practice under the loving guidance of his wife, Zoë.
