Immerse Yourself in Sanskrit

Sunday, Aug. 19th - Friday Aug. 24th

Have you ever wished you could do your yoga practice and then study yoga philosophy and Sanskrit during the day? Here is your chance!

Each day will include:
- Morning Mysore Ashtanga practice (except Saturday)
- Yoga philosophy, chanting and discussion
- Sanskrit study at any level

$350 for AYUWS students
$400 for Sanskrit/philosophy only
$450 for visitors, including Mysore practice

Tentative Schedule:

7:00-11:00AM (any time): Mysore Ashtanga Practice, all levels
11:30-1:00PM: Yoga Philosophy, chanting and discussion. We will chant and discuss selections from various texts including the Yoga Sūtra, the Bhagavad Gītā and the Haṭhapradīpikā.
2:30-4PM: Sanskrit study. All levels welcome. Students will be divided into groups according to ability and taught individually at their own pace, learning from my Sanskrit textbook, Yogāvatāraṇam: The Translation of Yoga.

Whether you are brand new to studying Sanskrit or have some experience - interested in learning proper pronunciation, reading the devanāgarī script, delving into meaning and grammar, or in just deepening your yoga practice - this course is appropriate for all levels. The study of Sanskrit will deepen your yoga practice both on and off the mat - opening your heart, mind and soul to greater levels of subtle awareness, concentration and understanding.

Please reserve your spot early as space will be limited.
