Mahā-mṛtyuñjaya Mantra
Ṛg Veda 7.59.2
ॐ
त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम् ।
उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान् मृत्योर्मुक्षीय मामृतात् ॥
Oṃ tryambakaṃ yajāmahe sugandhiṃ puṣṭi-vardhanam |
urvārukam iva bandhanān mṛtyor mukṣīya māmṛtāt ||
We worship the three-eyed Śiva,
Whose sweet fragrance nourishes our growth.
Just like the cucumber fruit is released from its stalk when it ripens,
Free us from attachment and death; don’t keep us from immortality.
